Yoga mat on the floor, meditation

A legend in his day, Sir Paul McCartney at 80 is still rocking life in every extraordinary way. What are his healthy secrets?

Two important things – yoga and meditation – were a big part of McCartney’s life. In fact, he considers meditation “a lifelong gift.” Writing about meditating in a blog post, the star said: “I think it’s always very good to have a quiet moment in your day. Whenever I have a chance in a busy schedule, if it’s me I’ll do it if I don’t rush out the door with some crazy stuff.” As for yoga, he has a group of friends who he calls “the yoga guys.” who he regularly practices yoga with, Alec Baldwin happens to be one of the “Yoga Boys!”

McCartney also runs his own exercise program without the help of a personal trainer, which includes a combination of floor stretches, foam rollers, an elliptical machine, and cardio — aka “a little jogging.” The coolest part of McCartney’s fitness routine? He breaks out into a headstand to end his session, which is his “favorite part” of the sweat session.

“When I’m at a gym and all the big guys have big weights and do all the big stuff, I end up doing a headstand,” says McCartney, “and they come over to me [and say]’That’s pretty impressive man.'” We have to agree!

McCartney is a vegetarian — and has stuck to that lifestyle since the ’70s — and says, “There are tons of vegetarian options these days, so it’s not like it used to be when you only got the cooked sprout,” in an interview 2018 with Wired (above CNBC).

We are in awe of Paul McCartney. As for me, I feel like you’ve learned “something” here from that star that always shines. If you want to look great in 80, don’t just sit back and let it be. It’s important to stay active and stay young, just like the legend.
