Abbott and WeightWatchers work together to help people with diabetes achieve their health goals

ABBOTT PARKSick., August 4, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Abbott (NYSE: ABT) and WW International, Inc. (“WeightWatchers” or “WW”) today announced a strategic partnership that will help people with diabetes better understand their diabetes and weight and deal with it. The companies are working together to integrate WeightWatchers’ diabetes-specific weight management program with Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre portfolio® Products to create a seamless mobile experience that gives people with diabetes the information and insights they need to make healthier diet adjustments, improve glucose levels and ultimately take more control of their health.

Maintaining a healthy weight and eating right are critical to living well with diabetes.3 However, for many people with diabetes, the most difficult part of diabetes management is determining what to eat and sticking to a meal plan.4 Through this partnership, participants will be able to receive glucose insights from Abbott’s sensor-based FreeStyle Libre technology that show the effects of food choices alongside those empirically validated5 WeightWatchers’ diabetes-focused nutritional advice to help you achieve your goals for a healthier lifestyle.

The two companies will work together to enable Abbott’s FreeStyle Libre continuous glucose monitoring systems and the WeightWatchers mobile app to share information so people with diabetes can see their glucose data alongside WeightWatchers’ diabetes-tailored program.
